Three Documents Are Required:

Must provide teaching license, like TEFL (120 hour or above), TESOL or other formal license. Or provide 2 year’s teaching reference letters after you graduated, or majored in education.

3. Apostilled Police Check

Must provide a police check from your own country or another country which you stayed over 12 months

1. Apostilled Bachelor Degree or Above
Must have a bachelor degree or above, not diploma, otherwise you can’t get a Z visa to teach legally in China

Notes

The validity of the apostilled police check is 6 months, the validity of the apostilled degree and tefl is permanent.

Apostille and Authentication Certificates

These validate the seal and signature of a Notary on a document for acceptance in a foreign country. Apostilles apply to countries party to the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961, streamlining the authentication process.

Authentication Certificates

For non-Hague Convention countries, multiple authentication certificates are needed. The process is: Notarization (by local Notaries Public/Solicitors) --> Legalization (by Ministry of Foreign affairs) --> Chinese Consulate legalization

Apostille Certificates

On 8th March 2023, China acceded to the "Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents" (hereinafter referred to as the Convention). This Convention entered into force in China on 7th November 2023. The use of public documents between China and other signatories to the Convention Do Not need to apply for consular legalization anymore. Any public document of any signatory state affixed with the Apostille is taken as legally effective in China and vice versa. Procedures was simplified: Notarization (by local Notaries Public/Solicitors) --> Apostille (by Ministry of Foreign affairs)
